The story behind Sweet Bobby, the new Netflix documentary
The new documentary Sweet Bobby tells the story of the radio host Kirat Assi, who was involved in a complex web of deception that lasted more than a decade and involved more than 60 completely fictional characters.
It all started in 2010, when Kirat was contacted on Facebook by someone posing as Bobby Jandua Kenyan cardiologist. What began as a virtual friendship, over time became a romantic relationship, although it was always marked by multiple excuses and strange situations.
What Kirat Assi did not imagine is that the man he was talking to It wasn’t the real Bobby Janduup until before, Simran Bhogalwho deceived her with an elaborate web of lies. This, since during nine years, Simran invented more than 60 fictional characters who interacted with their cousin to make the deception more credible.
Years later, Kirat became suspicious and hired an investigator, who quickly contacted Bobby, who had no idea this woman existed.
There the search for the person responsible began, culminating in 2020 and taking Simran to court for misuse of private information and data protection violations.
