On Sunday, the first round of the Cruise Spring Trophy was held in the Bay of Gijón, a windward-leeward course of about 11 miles for classes I and II, and just over 7 for the smaller class III boats. . The wind blew from the Northeast from light to moderate, reaching peaks of 17 knots in the second half of the test, with a swell and long waves that sometimes exceeded 2 meters in height.

In the Cruise I class, victory went to the Taxus MedioAmbiente, owned by Alfredo Flórez, who had a good regatta, surpassing its closest rival, the Orbayu II, owned by Miguel Suárez once the times had been corrected by 36 seconds.

The third position went to the BullBox, by Luis Noguera, winner of the last edition.

El Jarr, led by Luis Llano, won comfortably in class II, taking more than 2 minutes over second-placed team, Universidad de Oviedo-Grupo Isastur, led by Roberto Álvarez-Bucetas. Raúl Menéndez’s Andantino finished the test in third position.

The university boat from Marina Civil Espumeru, with Alberto Tablón at the helm, is once again the boat to beat in class III, it was the fastest in the test, making a notable difference to its rivals. Pedro Guerra’s Ita II occupies the second position in the table, followed by Hernán Javier del Frade’s Pría.
