The technical conference for the Iraqi Club Athletics Championship, the second round, was held this evening, Wednesday, in the hall of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Sulaymaniyah University. Its events will begin tomorrow, Thursday, and continue for three days.

Zaidoun Jawad, Executive Director of the Federation, told (INA): “The championship curriculum was discussed, and the heights were agreed upon with the coaches, and it was decided to honor the first-place finishers for all categories and for various events, with financial prizes for both genders. The Federation’s decision comes to motivate the players to achieve the best numbers.
The federation also decided to allocate a sum of money ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 dollars to each athlete who achieves the qualifying figure for the World Championships, starting next season, and to allocate a very large sum of money to whoever achieves the qualifying figure for the Olympic Games in Paris.
The Federation stressed the conduct of doping tests for athletes who participate in internal and external tournaments, and whoever is proven to have used steroids, the player and coach bear all the financial costs resulting from his camps and external tournaments, in addition to the legal consequences of the World Anti-Doping Organization (WADA).
