Colombo – An incident has taken place in the Wellawatte area where a person who robbed a woman of money and gold jewelery, knowing the family background of the woman, returned the looted items.
A woman who is a mother of 3 children working in a private company in the Wellawatta area has been going to work on a motorcycle every day. In this case, last week, as usual, the woman was on her way home from work and when she went home at night, the person who misled the woman said that she was a police officer.
Thus the person claiming to be a police officer, intimidated the woman and asked her to follow him on the way. The woman followed him as told by the person in fear.
After walking a short distance, the man tried to snatch money and gold jewelery from the woman in a no-man’s land.
The woman told the man that she was the mother of 3 children and was living alone with her children without a husband. The woman said that she was taking full responsibility of the family due to the absence of her husband and that she was raising her three children amidst great inconvenience.
The thief who heard his background not only returned all the items he had stolen from him but also took him safely to the main street.
The victim woman said that it was surprising that this humanity was revealed to a thief in this age of revenge even for those who have lived a comfortable life from a young age and are now living a life of luxury in good condition without facing any psychological or physical problems.
