Over the nine months of 2023, space powers have carried out a total of 159 space rocket launches. Of these, 151 were considered successful, the rest were either unsuccessful or partially successful. The absolute superiority in space launches belongs to the United States (80 launches, 52% of the total). China is in second place in the number of space launches (44 launches, 29%).

Russia is in third place – 13 starts (9%). The launch of the spacecraft to the Moon ended in failure. Most of the Russian space rockets were launched from the Plesetsk (Arkhangelsk region) and Vostochny (Amur region) cosmodromes.

India has 7 launches (5%), including a successful lunar mission. The European Space Agency and Japan each carried out 2 space launches, and Israel, South Korea and Iran each carried out one.

Recently meeting with young specialists in the rocket and space industry, President Putin set the task of multiplying the Russian orbital constellation. So far, Russia has about 150 satellites, China has about 500, and the United States, including Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites, has more than 4,000 satellites.
