The amount of works already completed this season is approximately 26-27 million euros, and it is predicted that at the end of the season they will reach the planned 30 million euros, informed the mayor of Riga.
Also next year, it is planned to carry out renovation works on the surface of Riga’s streets in the amount of this year – around 30 million euros, but in the following years the amount should be increased and should approach 45 million euros, said Ķirsis.
This year, resurfacing works were planned on 128 streets, including double surface treatment works on 89 streets, and asphalt resurfacing on 38 streets. Most of the works have already been completed, said Čirsis.
In the assessment of the mayor of Riga, this season can be considered a very good one, as the largest street surface restoration works have been completed so far.
At the same time, ķirsis admitted that he also had to face difficulties – the market was not ready for works of such a volume, including neither construction companies nor construction supervisors.

It has already been reported that most of this year’s ambitious road surface restoration works have been completed in Riga.
80% to 95% of the total amount of work has been completed in three more street sections, therefore the works are also planned to be completed on Cēsu Street, the Jugla waterfront section from Brīvības gatve to Pāles Street and the Jugla Street section to Murjāņu Street, and the Sesku Street section from Ilūkste in the near future. streets to Dārzciema Street.
In terms of volume, the most ambitious pavement renewal took place in the section of Kārļas Ulmaņas gatve from Jaunmoku street to the city border, including in the lanes parallel to it. Currently, 95% of the work is done there.
