Today, December 17, at about 3 – 4 o’clock in the morning, the Warsaw – Grodno bus collided with fire service and police vehicles on the highway near Bialystok.
A reader of AvtoGrodno shared the first details.
“We were passengers on this bus, everyone was asleep. There were 6 of us, and there were 2 drivers on the bus. At some point, we felt a strong blow and woke up – our bus was in an accident,” says an AvtoGrodno reader.
It turned out that ahead at this place on the S8 highway two hours earlier there had been a collision between a car and a truck. Rescuers and police officers arrived at the scene of the accident. For some reason, the driver of the Warsaw-Grodno bus was unable to avoid official vehicles parked along the side of the road.
“First, we hit the fire service truck with our right side, and then, by inertia, we hit the police car. There was an officer there who was filling out documents for the first incident. He was injured and was hospitalized by doctors,” says an AvtoGrodno reader.
– How do the passengers feel, what’s wrong with the bus driver?
– The driver is fine, the passengers too, although there were problems with the girl who was traveling with us. For the first hour after the accident, she felt well, walked, and could smile. But then she suddenly felt unwell, we called an ambulance and the girl was also taken to the hospital. But just recently she called and said that she was fine and we were waiting for her to continue the trip on another bus,” says an eyewitness.
The impact on the bus body fell below the glass line, with one glass completely shattered, and some were partially broken. The bus continued to move under its own power to the site behind the police.
