The White House this Wednesday raised to 22 the number of American citizens who died in Israel as a result of the offensive launched on Saturday by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from the Gaza Strip.
This was confirmed at a press conference by White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre, who also reported that at least 17 Americans are still missing, reports the NBC news network.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, recognized on Tuesday that among the civilians taken hostage by Hamas there are also American citizens, which is why he ordered National Intelligence to collaborate with the Israeli authorities.
Israel has so far confirmed more than 1,200 dead and 3,700 injured; while from Gaza, controlled by Hamas, they have published a latest toll of victims that points to more than 1,100 dead and another 5,300 injured, in addition to another 20 dead in the West Bank.
