BOLZANO. The provincial road between Frari and Lauregno has been widened and made safer. The works to widen approximately one kilometer of the provincial road 86 between Frari (Schmieden) and the industrial area of Lauregno are almost finished. The roadway was widened by up to 1.20 metresmaking it possible for buses and cars to cross without problems for the first time.

According to Johannes Strimmer, director of the Western Roads Technical Office, it was particular attention was paid to the maintenance of the cladding walls on the upstream side. On the downstream side, the road has been made safe with new walls and overhangs to make even the steepest slopes safe. A 90 meter long rockfall barrier offers further safety in a particularly vulnerable section. Also the bridge over the Rio de Vallers it was widened and reinforced by three metres. The main works have been completed, while the remaining finishing works, including road markings, will be completed in spring 2025.
