Mohanur: Murthy’s daughter Archana, 22, from Arur South Street, next to Mohanur, was married off to Manikandan from the same area. Archana has been living in her father’s house for two years due to a disagreement between husband and wife.
From there, he goes to work for a private textile company in Karur. Last night, at 9:00 pm, when Archana returned home from work, she got down at Arur bus stop, Manikandan and her father Nagarajan, who were hiding there, slashed Archana with a sickle and fled.
The people there rescued Archana and admitted her to Namakkal Government Hospital. In connection with the incident, the Mohanur police have registered a case and are searching for the absconding father and son.
