The number of victims due to a missile attack on the village of Groza, Kupyansky district, has increased to 53, and 5 more people are currently considered missing. DNA examinations are ongoing, so it is possible that the death toll may increase.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by the head of the Investigation Department of the Kharkov Region Police, Sergei Bolvinov, during a briefing.
“As of now, we have identified 53 dead. Therefore, we can say that today our number of dead has increased. And taking into account the still unidentified body parts and statements of missing persons, the final number may increase,” he said.
In total, police received 22 missing persons reports, he said.
“All statements were processed. Four statements were not confirmed because we found people. We identified 13 among the corpses. Five are now missing,” Bolvinov added.
According to him, the police are still collecting human remains without interruption, and “DNA laboratories have been working around the clock for the fifth day.”
“Without a break, we collect the remains of civilians. From the first minute, despite extremely difficult moral conditions, we collected the remains of those killed in the village of Groza and identified these people. The mutilated bodies had to be collected in parts. We examined 135 remains of bodies. We are still doing this “,” he stated, noting that criminologists have already conducted 288 DNA studies.
