In the morning conference of the people today, January 7, the The Government of Mexico presented the actions and measures to follow as part of the “Stay away from drugs” campaign. “Fentanyl kills you”.
It is a comprehensive campaign in which the Secretariats of Public Education (SEP), Culture, Health, Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), IMSS Bienestar and ISSSTE participate; Below we will tell you what it is about.
Government of Mexico presents the campaign “Stay away from drugs. “Fentanyl kills you”
The Government of Mexico presented the actions that will be carried out in the midst of the “Stay away from drugs” campaign. Fentanyl kills you”, which aims to prevention of drug use, mainly fentanyl, instilling self-care and sharing scientific information on the matter.
In this sense, it was noted that the campaign will focus on two main pillars, the prevention and care with respect to drug consumption in Mexico.
In this way, a national and permanent campaign aimed at young people, adolescents and all families of the country, to talk about the use of fentanyl and other drugs, and its consequences.
This campaign includes the dissemination of a mini series that exposes the crises experienced in the United States and Canada due to opioid consumption.
The miniseries seeks to disseminate information about the origins of the opioid, from its pharmaceutical use to its clandestine manufacture, said the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.
“There is a crisis that comes from the consumption of fentanyl that comes from before, that comes from the consumption of medications related to substances that replaced opioids. This miniseries is just that information.”

Likewise, as part of the actions of the campaign “Stay away from drugs. “Fentanyl kills you,” the head of the SEP, Mario Delgado, shared the strategy that will be carried out in secondary and upper secondary schools throughout Mexico.
As he explained, a broad healthy living strategy is currently being deployed that guides healthy eating, physical activity and prevention of addictions in students.
Furthermore, it will search raise awareness about the irreversible damage to health caused by drug use, encourage self-care and decision making to preserve physical health.
This through regular talks from teachers to students, supported with the guides that the Government of Mexico will grant them to talk about drug use with students. These talks will take place 2 to 3 times a week for the next 9 weeks.
Among the topics to be discussed are the information about drugs: classification, severity of consumption, tobacco, vaping, methamphetamines, etc., and the harm they cause to citizens.
In addition, it was reported that the assemblies where the Rita Cetina Scholarship cards are handed out will also talk about drug use and A guide will be given for fathers and mothers, which will be delivered by the Government of Mexico.
Another action of the campaign “Stay away from drugs. “Fentanyl kills you,” are the National Conference “From School to Community”, to raise awareness of the importance of avoiding drugs and addictions through plays, contests, etc.
Likewise, it was noted that there will be:
- Massive boxing class throughout the country
- Spots in the media
- Posters in schools in Mexico
- More than 1,488 spectaculars throughout the country on the subject
