With great participation and ambition to establish themselves, the 1st Interscholastic Mathematical Games of Ioannina were co-organized in Arsakeia of Ioannina on Thursday, March 14, international day of Fr.
100 students from five high schools of the city participated in the competitions (the 3The GEL Ioannina “Epiphanios School”, 5The GEL, the 8thThe GEL, the Standard GEL Zosimaia School and Arsakeio Lyceum) and 40 high school students (from 10The “Theodoros Papagiannis” High School, “Nikolaos Doumbas” Music School and Arsakeio High School), as well as 30 teachers as judges. The students competed in mixed teams in solving classic math exercises, puzzles as well as measurements in nature.
The competitive part was preceded by a speech by Professor Michael Xenou entitled “Mathematics: The Language of Science”. The professor of the Department of Mathematics and member of the Board of Management of the University of Ioannina Konstantinos Zografos and the Education Advisor Aphrodite Hatsidou addressed the greeting.
