One of the most important races now has an official track. They reveal a tour of Paris Nice and the big star who will be there.

Paris Nice 2025

The routes for one of the preparatory races for the cycling season are already ready: Paris-Nice, which next year will take place between Sunday 9th and Sunday 16th March.
A path that will be similar to the one that has been prepared for us year after year.

The first stage will be a 156.5 km circuit in Le Perray-En-Yvelines: sprint finish, but not easy with a third degree climb of 1.2 km at 7% (the Cóte de Villiers-Saint-Frédéric) which is repeated three times and could open the game to different attacks.

Then, the second stage of 183.9 km up to Bellegarde, all flat and for sprinters, to then arrive at the third day with a team time trial which includes a climb with ramps of up to 11% in Nevers which will be the key day to experience a first look at the general classification.

A clarification: it will be like last year. One individual timer per team. That is, each team’s time in the stage will be marked by the first rider of the team to cross the finish line, and, for the individual overall, the times of each cyclist will be noted. That is, a team can win the stage, but its leader, if he falls behind, can lose time in the general classification.

We will then move on to the fourth day with a high finish at La Loge des Gardes of 6.7 kilometers at 7.1%, which in turn will have five previous climbs (four of the third and one of the second).
Fifth medium mountain stage towards La Coté-Saint-André with short but steep climbs, with an arrival that illustrates this perfectly: 1.7 kilometers with an average of 11.1%, which reaches 18%. Final for puncher but where the general classification may also undergo changes.

Stage six in Berre L’Etang will be the last opportunity for the sprinters as we approach the Mediterranean, while days 7 and 8, in the Martime Alps, will serve to define the general classification.

The seventh will be characterized by constant climbs with a first-rate finish in Auron (7.3 km at 7.2%), while the queen day in Nice will see the typical climbs at the Côte de Peille, the Col d’Èze and the Col des Four Chemins.

Who will we see in the race?

As expected, we are several months away and we barely know the calendars of some runners.
But Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France, stated (or “spoiled”) in the presentation that Jonas Vingegaard will be present.

The Dane has not yet managed to win the race and will seek revenge in the next edition. In 2023, suffering from physical and personal problems, he placed third behind Tadej Pogacar and David Gaudu.
This could mean a castling compared to Visma’s 2024 strategy, where Vingeegard went to Tirreno-Adriatico, while Matteo Jorgenson was the team leader in the French race.

Three others who say they are present are Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) – the team has indicated that the start-of-season calendar will be a “copy-paste” of 2024 -, Lenny Martinez (Bahrain) (as indicated by journalist Oscar Bertrand in his report by X) and Pablo Castrillo (Movistar), after having declared it himself in an interview with Relevo.
