In an operation carried out by the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, an alleged “drug store” that operated in the Palmatitla neighborhood, in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office. This place was supposedly linked to the criminal cell known as “Los Rudos”, related to the distribution of drugs in school areas, according to investigations. During the search, Four people were arrested, including three women and a man.

The detainees, identified as Moisés “N”, Veronica “N”, María “N” and Janet “N”would be involved in the sale of marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine to primary and secondary school students. The operation was carried out after a citizen complaint that warned about the operation of a drug sales point and the possible presence of armed people in the area.

The authorities began the investigation after receiving reports that linked the property to criminal activities. Agents from the Investigative Police (PDI) intervened in the home, where they found several doses of narcotics, as well as cash, mobile phones and digital storage devices.

The four detainees were transferred to the Public Ministry of the Specialized Attention Prosecutor’s Office to determine their legal situation. The property, along with the evidence collected, was secured by the authorities as part of the investigation for crimes against health.

Investigations reveal that the criminal cell “Los Rudos”, to which the detainees are linked, operates in several areas of the north of Mexico City, mainly in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office. According to information from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), this group is associated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and is mainly dedicated to the sale and distribution of drugs, in addition to participating in extortion of local merchants.

The leader of “Los Rudos” has been identified as Ángel Serafín “N”, who is related to several extortions and armed confrontations in the area. In the Cuautepec neighborhood, this organization maintains a territorial dispute with other criminal groups, which has caused an increase in violence in the mayor’s office.
