They try to assault an elected Oaxacan councilor on the superhighway after Chedraui’s protest

The elected municipal president of the city of Oaxaca, Ray Chagoya, suffered an attempted assault on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca superhighway.

The events occurred yesterday afternoon, when the elected councilor returned from the swearing-in ceremony of the municipal president of Puebla capital, Pepe Chedraui.

When he was traveling on the superhighway at the turnoff to Tehuacán, armed individuals fired from a moving truck at the vehicle in which Chagoya Villanueva was traveling.

As best he could, the elected councilor’s driver managed to escape from the area amidst the bullets of the aggressors, while Ray Chagoya requested support from the National Guard, who, kilometers ahead, helped them.

Through his assault on Highway 150D, before reaching the Tehuacán-Cuacnopalan detour, Puebla. Thanks to the timely and effective intervention of the National Guard, my team and I were unharmed and were able to continue our journey without major setbacks.”
