They were not informed, they were misinformed and they were left alone, but no one prosecutes the communists (+VIDEO)

The devastation left by Hurricane Oscar as it passed through Guantánamo is not only measured in destroyed houses and families cut off from communication, but also in a feeling of abandonment that has overwhelmed the survivors.

Many claim that the Cuban regime left them to their fate in the most critical moments and without the promised help to face the disaster.

In San Antonio del Sur, one of the most affected municipalities, a neighbor had the opportunity to express his discontent directly to the person in charge, Miguel Díaz-Canel, who arrived three days after the hurricane and without solutions.

“They left us alone there with 29 children,” the man complained, narrating how, given the unfulfilled promise of a rescue team, the same neighbors organized an emergency evacuation in the middle of an overflowing and dangerous river.

The affected people confessed that they barely escaped the tragedy and all this without having information about what was happening.

This feeling of abandonment is repeated in other municipalities, such as Imías, where several families were trapped in their homes, watching the water rise to the roof while they waited for help that never came.

Social networks were filled with images of submerged houses and neighbors sheltering on rooftops, awaiting a rescue that, in many cases, depended solely on support among neighbors.

“There are between 17 and 20 dead here; In the towns we all know each other and we know how many are missing,” said a neighbor from San Antonio del Sur, while the sun regime speaks of seven dead people.

Cubans ask that those guilty of this abandonment be punished, but the reality is that no one is prosecuting the communists.
