Real Madrid’s Spanish football team coach, Carlo Ancelotti, said that kylian Mbappe must continue to persevere, fight, and work hard as things will improve eventually.
Mbappe missed two penalty kicks during the two losses against Liverpool, and recently against Athletic Bilbao.
After the 1/2 loss to Bilbao, the French star said on social media that he bears full responsibility for his disappointing appearance again.
Ancelotti said before facing Girona on Saturday: “He is aware of what is happening, and what he published after the Bilbao match shows that he is a player who knows how to play and that he can play better.”
He added: “There are players who do not realize that they are not playing at their best levels, but he realizes that he can play better, and he will do everything in his power to improve quickly.”
Mbappé’s arrival on a free transfer last summer raised great expectations that one of the best talents in the world would reach new heights, with an experienced team that recently won two Champions League and Spanish League titles.
But the results so far are disappointing, as Mbappe did not score in the major matches this season, as Real Madrid lost to Barcelona and Bilbao in the league, and to Liverpool, Milan, and Lille in the Champions league.
Ancelotti said that missing penalties did not help the team, but he could confirm Mbappe’s efforts.
He added: “Penalty kicks are another matter and he must continue to stand up, fight and work hard as things will improve eventually.”
