jpnn.comJAKARTA – President Joko Widodo smiled while giving a thumbs up as a comment on the latest design of the Indonesian National Team jersey which was released this year.
This moment took place after Jokowi witnessed Indonesia’s first win in the 2026 World Cup qualification in the Asian zone, second round of Group F after beating Vietnam 1-0 at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday night.
Jokowi was present without wearing the new national team jersey, appearing in plain white long-sleeved casual clothes with matching black trousers.
Even a number of ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (KIM), such as BUMN Minister Erick Thohir who is also the General Chair of PSSI, wore a red t-shirt wrapped in a black vest.
Meanwhile PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono appeared wearing a red T-shirt wrapped in a national team vest with the Li-Ning logo and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo wore a black T-shirt wrapped in a PSSI red vest.
The Erspo brand officially released the Indonesian national team jersey used by the Garuda Squad in a number of competitions, including the 2026 World Cup Qualification, U-23 Asian Cup and U-17 AFF Cup.
The jersey, which was made by top local apparel, has attracted mixed responses from the public since it was officially launched Monday this week.
