The Chinese corporation Realme has invented a smartphone that can change the color of the body depending on the temperature.

As Day.Az reports, this was reported by Android Authority.

Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ devices were announced at a presentation in Copenhagen (Denmark). The company said that the presented devices have a chameleon back panel that can change color depending on the ambient temperature.

The smartphones were created in collaboration with Valeur Designers. Thus, the back panel of Realme 14 Pro can change color from pearl white to bright blue when the ambient temperature drops to 16 degrees. Accordingly, if the temperature rises above 16 degrees, the body will turn white again.

The new feature is made possible thanks to thermochromic pigments. However, over time, the color changing effect will weaken due to the nature of the materials. It is believed that the back cover of the smartphone will be able to change colors within approximately 12 months. The effect will be reduced by exposure to sunlight.

The company did not disclose the exact characteristics of the smartphones before the full release, but noted that the devices will receive protection from moisture and dust according to the IP68 and IP69 standards. In addition, they will receive screens that occupy 93.8 percent of the front panel area.
