jpnn.comJAKARTA – Diversity thinker Sukidi said the root of the problem in the 2024 presidential election stems from the abuse of power and nepotism by Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

He said that the daughter of Indonesian proclaimer Soekarno or Bung Karno, Megawati Soekarnoputri, had voiced this, namely the occurrence of nepotism during the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed by Sukidi when he was a guest speaker at the 2024 People’s Opinion Session for Election Justice which was held at Fraser Residence, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday (19/4).

“This is the root of the main problem that was clearly voiced by Mrs. Megawati. Nepotism and alleged abuse of power by the president,” said the Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah cadre, Friday.

Sukidi then brought up MK decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 as a practice of nepotism involving former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman, Jokowi, and Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

He continued that Jokowi’s practice of nepotism actually violates TAP MPR Number 9 of 1998, violates Law Number 28 of 1999, and TAP MPR Number 8 of 2001 which demands that the administration of the state be clean and free from KKN.

“On that basis, the president should be strongly suspected of having violated the constitution, namely the president’s oath and promise to uphold the Constitution and implement all laws and regulations with all the rules in accordance with Article 9 of the 1945 Law,” said Sukidi.

The Harvard University doctoral recipient said that the violation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s oath and promise was a form of constitutional violation which had implications for impeachment.

Diversity thinker Sukidi said Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s alleged nepotism could have implications for impeachment.
