On iPhone, simply go to the “Settings” tab at the bottom of the application. We then use the “privacy” tab to access the settings that interest us, i.e. “online presence“. Here, check the people from whom you want to hide your online status or not. Then apply the same setting to “who can see when I’m online” using the “Same as last online” option.

By selecting the “My Contacts” option, people whose numbers you haven’t entered on your phone will never see you online! A simple but effective way to become invisible to potential scammers trying to contact you. If you simply don’t want to show your presence to anyone, choose the “Nobody” option.

If you have an Android smartphone the method is almost identical. Instead of the “settings” tab, you will first need to use the three little dots at the top of the application. These will allow you to access the WhatsApp settings and the “privacy” tab and the “online presence” option.
