Barça will have a new artist on the shirt on the day of the classic. After the sponsorship agreement with Spotify, the club has made several collaborations by putting logos of some artists, all recognized worldwide. The latest collaboration is that of Karol G(Carolina Giraldo)one of the most influential artists in the world.
The 33-year-old Colombian has more than 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify and entered the top 10 of the most listened to in 2023. “Tusa” or “Bichota” are some of her most famous songs.
Barça will debut the new design at the Santiago Bernabéu on April 21, in the second round classic. The logo, as in previous editions, will be in the center of the Barça shirt.
Within the drawing of the tattoo, which will be represented in white, “Karol G” will appear written, the name of the artist. All Barça collaborations Karol G will be the fourth collaboration of illustrious singers with the culés since the club signed the agreement with Spotify.
She will be the second woman and the second Spanish-speaking artist to be part of the FC Barcelona – Spotify union in March 2022.
The rapper Drake was the first to appear in a Barça design, with the drawing of the owl, the Canadian’s logo. It debuted in Barça’s defeat at the Bernabéu in the autumn of 2022, a turning point in Xavi’s Barça.
The second collaboration was that of the Catalan artist Rosalía. Barça wore the name of their third album, the iconic “Motomami”. Its debut was in Barça’s 2-1 victory in the last classic played at the Spotify Camp Nou, which helped the culés get back on track in last season’s league.
The last collaboration with Spotify to tune the culé shirt was last October in the Montjuïc classic against Madrid in Bellingham. The chosen ones were the Rolling Stones with their famous tongue, a logo that did not bring good luck as the whites overcame Gündogan’s initial goal and won 1-2.
In the absence of official confirmation, it is expected that the Barça shirts with Karol G will be limited edition. As was done in previous collaborations, there could be 1899 units in honor of the club’s founding year.(D)
