During his reading tour, Gottschalk not only spoke about his new book “Unfiltered”, but also about current headlines such as the allegations of violence against Pietro Lombardi.
In “Unfiltered” Thomas Gottschalk takes a close look at today’s society. “What once caused laughter can now cause outrage,” says the description of his work. The book has been on the market since October 16th, and the presenter started his reading tour in Hamburg on the same day. This was followed by appearances in major cities such as Berlin and Frankfurt. Thomas Gottschalk was also a guest in Vienna.
The Austrian newspaper “oe24” was there when the ex-“Wetten, dass…?” star read from his book – and was asked about a headline that recently dominated the tabloid press. There was a police operation on Pietro Lombardi and his fiancée Laura Maria Rypa on the night of October 7th. The DSDS juror is said to have become violent towards his partner. The singer has since denied these rumors.
When asked about this, Thomas Gottschalk couldn’t resist taking a swipe at the musician. “At my age, you have several options to make the headlines. Either you die, which I don’t feel like doing, or you beat up your partner, which I don’t feel like doing either and my partner has even less desire to do.”
The 74-year-old continued: “But you can see that the only one who is making headlines for me at the moment is Mr. Lombardi, who is in trouble with his girlfriend, or I got into the devil’s kitchen because I said things that I may have thought and that we are no longer allowed to think about today.”
He also spoke about Cathy Hummels on the reading tour. When the presenter stopped in Berlin almost two weeks ago, he mentioned: “Cathy Hummels offered me to promote my book,” he began his story, but then waved it off: “But I’d rather not say anything more now, otherwise I’ll talk I’m still worried about it.”
