Glimt fell behind after a classic counterattack when twenty minutes had passed at Aspmyra, but goals from Zinckernagel and Odin Bjørtuft ensured a 2-1 victory and three important points. Particularly the latter’s goal was exquisite.
– What a comeback! It’s impressive to hit it so cleanly as he does here, praised Viaplay expert Nils Johan Semb after Bjørtuft’s 2-1 goal.
With these three points, Glimt now has ten points in the Europa League standings after six matches played. Thus, the hope of being among the eight that qualify directly for the round of 16 is very much alive. In the battle to be among the 24 best, Glimt is very well positioned. In the last two matches, they will face Maccabi Tel Aviv (home) and Nice (away). These will be played after the New Year.

– Received some warnings
Twenty minutes into the match in Bodø, Gedson Fernandes appeared at the back post after a sparkling Besiktas counterattack, and the former Tottenham player slid in to make it 1-0 for the visitors.
– They have received some warnings previously. It’s an excellently executed counterattack from the Turks. The cross is perfect, and the run is good. A minus in the book for Glimt, both with the ball loss and the team’s balance, said Viaplay expert Nils Johan Semb.
After just under half an hour, Besiktas surged forward again on a counterattack, but Jostein Gundersen prevented a 0-2 with a heroic clearance. Ten minutes before halftime, it was rather Zinckernagel and Glimt who capitalized on a poor restart from the visitors’ goalkeeper. Bjørkan found the Danish striker, who hammered in the equalizer 1-1.
– sloppy play
Shortly after that, Ulrik saltnes was close to scoring, but the visitors managed to clear it away. They couldn’t do so when defender Bjørtuft struck cleanly and made it 2-1 after a corner kick.
– We are being sloppy. We actually have time to make things easier. In the end (of the half) we have good energy, said Glimt assistant Gaute Helstrup to Viaplay before the second half.
Shortly after halftime, the hosts were close to 3-1 from a corner kick, and Glimt controlled large parts of the game at Aspmyra. The visitors were also dangerous towards the end of the match, but no more goals were scored in Bodø.
Possible farewell to Aspmyra
Thursday’s match may turn out to be Jens Petter Hauge and Philip Zinckernagel’s last at Aspmyra for this time. The duo is on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt and Brugge, respectively.
In an interview with Viaplay before the match against Besiktas, Hauge did not rule out that he might stay in Bodø, where he has also shown good form during his second stint in yellow.
– We’ll see what happens. It can change quickly. If I end up staying, it’s no secret that I have enjoyed being here. I enjoy being in Bodø. No matter where I end up in January, I believe I haven’t played my last game for Glimt, said Hauge.
Nearly two weeks have passed since Glimt secured their fourth league title in five years. The yellow-clad team is heading into the last qualifying round for the Champions League next year.
