The heads of the Tlalpan and Magdalena Contreras mayors, Gabriela Osorio y José Fernando Mercadorespectively, led, last friday, November 29, the launch of the joint anti-crime program “Transforming Our Safe House.”
The strategy has the objective of reinforcing security and preventing the commission of criminal acts in the areas with the highest index of insecurity that both municipalities share territorially.

The event took place at the Liconsa facilities, located at ferrocarril de Cuernavaca 41-E, Pedregal de San Nicolás 4ta Section, Tlalpan, and was also attended by representatives of the federal government and CDMX.
Gaby Osorio and José Fernando Mercado reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively to increase the security of both demarcations.
The strategy has as goals:
- Substantially increase police presence in priority areas.
- Prevent the commission of crimes and administrative offenses.
- Guarantee public order and the safety of families.
The operation included the joint deployment of the security forces of the two municipalities located in the south of CDMX, strengthening response capabilities to the security needs of citizens.
“This is a coordinated work model that is here to stay,” said Mayor José Fernando Mercado.
For her part, Gaby Osorio stated that the Tlalpan mayor’s office will continue to implement extensive security strategies that include not only the strengthening of preventive actions, but also the active participation of citizens in the construction of safe environments.
“We are not here for the photo, this is a strategy that is part of our security programs for the next three years,” he said.
