Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai said that the party’s alliance with the state’s main opposition AIADMK remains intact and that the party will lead the alliance in the 2024 general elections. BJP president Annamalai’s comments came a day after ADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said that his party would form a mega alliance in the 2024 elections.

Annamalai, who attended a program held in Chennai on Monday, while talking to reporters, said that ADMK is the biggest and strongest party in Tamil Nadu and there is no mistake in Annan Edappadi’s views.
He further said, “There is no confusion about the alliance in the National Democratic Alliance. In 2021 and 2019 elections, we formed an alliance with ADMK in power. Today we are in alliance with ADMK and the BJP Parliamentary Committee will decide on the form of the alliance,” said Annamalai.

Commenting on ADMK rebel leader DTV Dhinakaran’s statement that he is ready to accept any mega alliance to defeat the evil forces of DMK, Annamalai said that the BJP parliamentary committee will decide the new entrants to the alliance and he has no say in it. He said no.

It is noteworthy that the National Democratic Alliance won only the Theni constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
