TN Rain Update | ‘These’ districts of Tamil Nadu likely to experience heavy rains: Weather Forecast

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal today due to the convective circulation prevailing over South Bay of Bengal. Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Tiruchirappalli, Sivagangai, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Puducherry, Karaikal. Heavy rain is expected at a few places.

Similarly, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal tomorrow. Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Tiruchirappalli, Sivagangai, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore Districts And Puducherry and Karaikal areas are likely to experience heavy rains, the Meteorological Department said.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal on the next day. Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode and Nilgiri districts received heavy rain at one or two places.

11.10.2022: Light to moderate rain with thundershower at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal. Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur and Thiruvannamalai districts received heavy rainfall at one or two places.

For Chennai, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. A few parts of the city may experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning. The maximum temperature will be around 31-32 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 25 degree Celsius.

Warning to Fishermen:
From 08.10.2022 to 11.10.2022 Cyclonic winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph and intermittent speed of 60 kmph are likely to occur over Kumari Sea areas, Gulf of Mannar and adjacent South Tamil Nadu coastal areas and South West Bay of Bengal adjacent to South Sri Lanka.

Fishermen are advised not to go to these areas on the above days. For more details you may visit mausam.imd.gov.in/chennai.
