An English press report revealed Manchester City’s intention to sign the Real Sociedad midfielder next January.
Manchester City is seeking to include a new midfielder, in order to compensate for the absence of its Spanish player, Rodri Hernandez, who will be absent until the end of the season due to a torn cruciate ligament.
According to the Spanish network “Relevo”, Manchester City is seeking to sign Martin Zobimendi, the Real Sociedad midfielder, in the next winter Mercato.
Manchester City believes that Zobimendi can be relied upon to compensate for the absence of his compatriot Rodri, especially since he has great qualities and is Rodri’s own replacement in the Spanish national team.
She added that Zobimendi has not yet signed his new contract with Real Sociedad, and there is a tendency to agree to his departure, whether through negotiation or through a penalty clause (60 million euros).
Martin Zobimendi refused to join Liverpool during the last summer transfer period, for 52 million pounds sterling, according to some press reports.
