Tiruppur: Tomato prices have gone up again. Tomatoes were sold at Rs 110 per kg at retail prices. Last week, a kilo of tomatoes sold for 70 rupees. The price remained unchanged for four days due to the increase in outstation imports. Yesterday, a kilo of tomatoes was sold at a wholesale price of 90 rupees and at a retail price of 110 rupees a kilo. At the Thennambalayam market, 14 kg trays sold for 1,200 rupees and 28 kg trays for 2,400 rupees. Tomatoes can be bought at lower prices if the public comes directly to the market, farmer market officials said.
