Roja started her political journey in 1999 from the Telugu Desam Party. After joining the party, she was appointed as the leader of the Telugu Desam Party’s women’s wing, the Telugu Mahila. Despite initially being given positions in the party, Roja continued to be hampered in some way in the Telugu Desam party. Preventing him from campaigning, interfering with party work. Roja has leveled a number of allegations against party leader Chandrababu Naidu, including behaving in a derogatory manner. But he did not take any major action on it.
Roja, who contested for the Telugu Desam Party in the 2009 assembly elections, lost. After that, he joined the Congress party saying there was no respect for where he was. Even there, Rose was unable to play a major role. The YSR Congress Party, led by Jaganmohan Reddy, was launched in 2011 at a time when Roja was thinking of stepping down from politics. He immediately left the Congress party and joined the YSR Congress.
