Total price inflation has fallen to the lowest level in two years!

Headline inflation eased to a two-year low of 4.95 percent in December.

While the central government has been taking various measures to control inflation for the past one year, it has come down below 5 percent in December.

In a statement released today by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry,

Headline inflation eased to 4.95 percent in December from 5.85 percent in November. Headline inflation in December 2021 was 14.27 percent.

It has been stated that the main reason for the significant decrease in total price inflation is the lower prices of food items, mineral oil, crude oil, natural gas, textiles, chemicals and chemical products.

It is noteworthy that headline inflation has come down to below 5 percent after two years, which was 4.95 percent in February 2021.
