Toyota Kirloskar Motor has temporarily stopped the supply of diesel models of three of its popular models – Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Hilux.
It has been reported that the company has temporarily suspended the sale of the diesel variant of the above 3 car models to the dealers after some problems were found in the certification test of the diesel powertrain. Due to this, there is a problem in delivering the Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Hilux cars to the right customers on time.

The decision was taken following the discovery of incorrect data in the horsepower output certification tests conducted on the company’s 3 diesel engine models. Only the 2.4-litre, 2.8-litre and 3.3-litre diesel engines have faced problems in testing.
Toyota Industries Corporation (DICO), an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), recently announced that three diesel engine models were found to have issues with horsepower output certification tests. A company spokesperson said the issue has no impact on the emissions or safety of the affected vehicles.

Toyota has also assured that owners of vehicles that have already been sent for sale but have not yet been delivered will be immediately informed about the status of the vehicle. Toyota mentioned that these vehicles will be registered and then delivered to the customers only after they have given their approval.
