“Trabelsi” discusses addressing the fuel and gas crisis

On Wednesday, the Committee for Addressing the Fuel and Gas Crisis held a meeting headed by the Minister of Interior in charge of the National Unity Government, Imad Mustafa Trabelsi, and all members of the committee and representatives of the relevant authorities.

The meeting reviewed the tasks and work accomplished by the committee and subcommittees, and evaluated the actual impact of these efforts on improving the fuel saving process in various cities and regions, according to what the media office of the Ministry of Interior said.

The statement explained, “We reviewed periodic reports on the level of fuel availability, distribution operations at stations, and a review of the measures taken to ensure the stability of fuel supplies to citizens.”

The attendees discussed “the role of security directorates in various regions in securing distribution stations, coordination mechanisms to ensure the safety of operations, and confronting any attempts aimed at destabilizing the distribution process.”

During the meeting, “new proposals were put forward to enhance the role of oversight and follow-up by the security authorities, and to define responsibilities to ensure that no bottlenecks or violations occur.”

Trabelsi stressed “the need to intensify joint efforts between the various concerned parties, to ensure the continued availability of fuel and gas and avoid future crises,” stressing “the importance of taking the necessary measures to accelerate the pace of work in implementing projects related to the infrastructure for fuel storage and distribution.”

In another context, the Minister of the Interior in charge of the National Unity Government, Imad Trabelsi, met on Wednesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, and the meeting discussed “ways to support and strengthen security and protect borders, in addition to securing the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.”
