La Voix des Sans Voix for Human Rights (VSV) welcomes the transfer, albeit late, of the political opponent Seth Kikuni Masudi on Friday September 13, 2024 to the office of the general prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Kinshasa-Gombe by the National Intelligence Agency ( ANR). ).
This move comes at the right time to end the various rumors and allegations that he is dead and provides clarification on his place of detention after his arrest from Monday September 2, 2024.
It is the duty of the VSV that he was charged with two (2) charges during the hearing of the political opponent, namely “incitement to civil disobedience and propagation of false rumours”.
The VSV denounces the bad practices of the security services which consist of arresting people and keeping them incommunicado for several days, not only in violation of the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, international legal instruments related to human rights minimum rules for treatment the keepers.
These practices may contribute to democratic backsliding in that they may not only discourage political opponents from expressing and having their opinions freely while respecting the laws of the DRC but are the basis of trauma and with other violence within many families.
