On Thursday, the news broke that club legend and Carrington receptionist Kath Phipps has passed away at the age of 85.
Kath joined the club as early as 1968. She first worked in the offices at Old Trafford, and has primarily been seen in the reception at Carrington since the year 2000, in addition to on match days.
She worked under both Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson and gained immense respect in the club as a person the players interacted wiht daily upon arriving at the training facility.
An adored member of the Manchester United family.

Many will remember that Ole Gunnar Solskjær brought Norwegian chocolate to Kath in the reception at Carrington when he arrived at the club as interim manager in December 2018.
Last November, Kath celebrated her 55th anniversary (!) at United. During that time, she spoke to the club media about what it was about the club that made her want to be there for over half a century.
– it is indeed so kind. I don’t think I have had any conflicts with anyone who has been here in all the years I have been here. I look forward to coming in and having a smile on my face every day and wishing people a “good morning.”
– I just enjoy being here. Not everyone can say they enjoy going to work,but I do. Football has been my life.
