Chennai: Sankaraiah, a senior leader of the Communist movement, passed away yesterday due to ill health. Kerala Chief Minister and Tamil Nadu political leaders have condoled his death. In their obituary they said:

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan: Shankaraiah, who lived as a companion of the working people, traveled with senior leaders during the Indian freedom struggle. He devoted himself completely to public life from his college days. His death is an irreparable loss to the working people and the communist cause.
