Two goals by Slovakian striker Libor Hudáček helped the Třinec hockey players to their second win in the extra league playoff final over Pardubice.

The Steelers won 4:3 on home ice and lead 2:1 in the four-game winning streak. Andrej Nestrashil scored a goal and an assist, Lukáš Radil had the same balance on the Dynamo side. The final series continues on Sunday again in Třinec, which is aiming for the fifth title in a row.

The home team was missing the injured defender Marinčin, the visitors started without striker Pánik. He paid for the fouls in the previous final matches and Říček got the chance instead.

As in previous duels, the Dynamo players were more active in shooting, but the Steelers created more significant chances. Nestrašil could have opened the scoring in the second minute, but Will was ready. Hrehorčák got into a separate attack during Pardubice’s power play and a faulty play by the visitors, but it did not end ideally.

In the 11th minute, Třinec was already in the lead, Hájek knocked Daň’s pass into the goal. But the visitors responded quickly, when Radil finished two minutes later into the open goal after an exemplary combination. After that, his teammate Zohorna fouled and Hudáček quickly used a power play to give Slezan the lead back.

At the beginning of the second half, Vrána got a promising opportunity. The Steelers’ lead was increased only in the 24th minute by Hudáček, who scored from the blue line and scored the sixth goal in the playoffs.

Dynamo reacted to the two-goal deficit with increased activity and Kacetl was on permanent duty. However, Sedlák, Zohorona and Adam Musil did not overcome him, Košťálek hit the post. In the 37th minute, the guests had already gained the upper hand when Mandát reduced the score from a quick counterattack.

At the beginning of the third period, Daňo could add peace to the Třinec hockey players, but he did not overcome Willa for the second time. On the other side, Košťálek made his way into a promising position, but he didn’t register among the scorers either. Nestrašil threatened from the break and after another Pardubice hesitation in the play-off, he almost knocked the puck into Vála’s goal.

Třinec got the fourth goal after all, when in the 57th minute Nestrasil made a breakthrough from another break. The East Bohemians recalled Will and Adam Musil reduced it in the power play, but the visitors were unable to equalize.
