Owned by businessman and former American leader Donald Trump, a hotel in Washington during his presidential term constantly inflated prices for guests who were Secret Service employees.
As Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru, this is stated in the report of the Democratic Party Oversight Committee in the US Congress.
Democrats pointed out that Trump and his hotel staff violated the “internal revenue” clause of the United States Constitution by depriving Secret Service agents of bonuses while using the structure “as their personal ATM.”
“His hotel repeatedly confiscated the agency’s bonuses and sometimes took up to 300 percent or more above the daily allowances allowed by the government,” said a parliamentary commission of the Democratic Party.
According to congressmen, Trump’s illegal proceeds from such fraud amounted to more than $300 thousand, which are indicated in the hotel’s accounting records as transfers of “small amounts.” At the same time, Mazars USA LLP, a company owned by Trump, also provided accounting services.
