The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) reported that yesterday the preparation and transfer of the more than 24,500 electoral boxes for the second presidential election to be held on August 20, between Sandra Torres and Bernardo Arévalo, was completed. As they indicated, the boxes contain electoral materials and documents, including the electoral roll, the ballots and the minutes.

“With this, the work planned is fulfilled so that the electoral festival, the second election of the presidential binomial, will take place next Sunday, August 20,” the TSE indicated.
In addition, they indicated that the packaging work began on Thursday, August 10, at the Electoral Process Operations Center installed in the Industry Park. The last boxes prepared were those corresponding to the District of Guatemala and the Central District.

As part of the preparations for the second round, the Plenary of TSE Magistrates held a meeting with the members of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States (MOE-OAS), where they remarked that the logistics of the process proceeds as planned in the electoral calendar.
This mission is made up of nearly 90 experts who carry out electoral observation throughout the country.
According to the electoral authority, the simulation of the Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission (TREP) computer program was scheduled for this Friday. Said drill will be held at the National Information Center (CNI) located in the Expocenter of the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel.
