Former presidential candidate and congress member Tulsi Gabbard left the Democrats two years ago. On Tuesday, she announced that she is joining the Republican Party. The reason is that she “loves America and prefers the leadership of former President Donald Trump“.
Out of love for the homeland
Gabbard made the surprising announcement during a speech at Trump’s campaign rally in Greensboro, North Carolina:
– It is because of my love for our country – and especially because of President Trump’s leadership that has transformed and brought the Republican Party back to a party of the people and peace. I am proud of President Trump, to stand here with you and announce that I am joining the Republican Party.
Libertarian and thinking people
Gabbard explained that she had decided to join the Republicans because they want a nation of “independent thinking people” who defend freedom and the Constitution – as she does herself.
– I join the party of the people, the party of equality, the party that was founded to fight and end slavery. It is the party of common sense and is led by a president who has the courage and strength to fight for peace.
For independent-thinkers like myself, there is no home in the Democrat Party. However, there is a home for us in the Republican Party.
The Republican Party of warmongering elite Dick Cheney is in the past. Trump’s GOP is a big open tent party of the people, equality,… pic.twitter.com/lz19KyYERf

End wars, don’t start them
Gabbard serves in the U.S. Army Reserve. She emphasized that Trump has “promised to end wars, not start them”.
Gabbard was a member of Congress from 2013 to 2021, representing the Democrats in Hawaii’s second district.
