Tunisian-Algerian arrangement for the tripartite Maghreb summit in Tripoli

The Algerian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf, held talks with his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali Al-Nafti, who is on a working visit to Algeria, as arrangements for the tripartite Maghreb summit scheduled in the capital, Tripoli, dominated the two ministers’ talks.

Attaf said in a joint press conference with his Tunisian counterpart that they discussed the preparations for holding the next tripartite summit between Algeria, Tunisia and Libya, which is scheduled to be held soon in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. He added: “We affirmed our commitment to embodying the decisions and recommendations that the Tunis summit led to, aiming to establish cooperation projects.” “A trilogy that is consistent with the interests, concerns and priorities shared by our three countries.”

He stressed that “Algeria and Tunisia continue, with one unified voice, to defend the right of our Libyan brothers to end the crisis that has afflicted them, away from any external interference, and to move towards free and fair elections that turn the page of disagreement and division once and for all and put Libya once again on the path of security, safety and prosperity.” ».

In turn, the Tunisian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s “ambitions for a new phase of building, construction and strategic partnership in all fields.”
