President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged views on priority issues of the Turkmen-Tatarstan partnership.
As Day.Az reports with reference to the official press of Turkmenistan, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the XVI BRICS summit in the BRICS plus format in Kazan.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to such areas of cooperation as the fuel and energy sector, shipbuilding, chemical industry, as well as the supply of aviation equipment and trucks. These sectors are key for both sides and ensure the stable development of bilateral economic relations.
The head of Tatarstan emphasized the progressive nature of Turkmen-Tatarstan relations, which are actively developing in various directions.
In turn, President Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of these ties and expressed confidence that the results of this visit will be an important step towards further strengthening the traditional partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, with a special emphasis on interaction with Tatarstan.
In addition, the meeting participants emphasized the importance of humanitarian cooperation and the accumulated experience of joint work in the field of science, education, culture and art. Inter-parliamentary contacts are also intensifying, helping to strengthen mutual understanding and interaction at various levels.
It should be noted that the plenary meeting of the XVI BRICS summit was held in the capital of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by leaders of the CIS countries, delegations from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, as well as heads of executive bodies of a number of international organizations.
