Several key union leaders and county leaders in the Labor Party have reportedly asked Jonas Gahr Støre to step down as party leader and Prime Minister. A shift in power could happen shortly after Christmas, the channel has learned.
They report that this dramatic progress has occurred over the past two weeks.
Jonas Gahr Støre refuses to comment on the matter to TV 2.
– I am currently traveling in Finnmark for two days. I have no comment on that, says Støre.
– We are not in a position to comment on this matter now,says Secretary of State Kristoffer Thoner to TV 2.
Nettavisen has asked Tonje Brenna for a comment. She has not yet responded to the inquiry.

If Tonje Brenna takes over as party leader, she will become the party’s second female leader ever. This is supported by the Labour Party’s Kamzy Gunaratnam.

A couple of weeks ago, TV 2 asked Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre if he could ever consider doing like Joe Biden, namely resigning before the election.
– I have no plans to do that. I am motivated and working and using all my time on it, he said.
A new shock poll conducted by TV 2 shows that the Labour Party is 7.5 percentage points behind the Progress Party. The Prime Minister admits that this is ”too, too low.”
