Nettavisen: For just over a month, TV 2‘s new major investment for this fall has been running on TV screens, namely “The Guardian“.
The program started with 14 celebrity participants, but only one participant can be crowned the winner of “The Guardian”. Additionally, the participant could end up with a hefty cash prize of up to 2.1 million Norwegian kroner.
In the program, viewers get well acquainted with the various celebrities, and there is a good mix of people – everything from TV personalities, actors, and influencers.
There are also significant differences in the participants’ incomes, as shown by the tax lists for 2022. The tax lists show taxable income and wealth for that year, but they do not tell the whole story about a person’s income or wealth.
Earned over three million kroner
Among the “Guardian” participants, several had a good outcome from the tax year 2022, with almost half of the participants earning well over a million this year.
But the one who earned by far the most, a whole 1.3 million kroner more than the second on the list, is influencer Marna Haugen (43). She had an income of 3,313,438 kroner, according to the tax figures for 2022.
The million-dollar salary may be due to her company, Familyfun AS, increasing revenue by 22 percent in 2022.
The company had a turnover of 4.4 million kroner, giving the influencer the opportunity to take out over three million kroner in salary.
Tax Figures
- The tax lists show taxable income and wealth for the year 2022, but they do not tell everything about a person’s income or wealth.
- The income in the tax lists is so-called ordinary income: The sum of all income minus deductions.
- An employee with large deductions, such as interest expenses, travel expenses, or losses from the sale of shares, will therefore have a much lower income in the tax lists than their actual salary income.
- The actual wealth may also be significantly higher due to large discounts in valuation. This discount was 45 percent in 2022 for, among other things, shares and equity certificates, share parts in funds and commercial properties.
- Owner-occupied homes are valued at up to 25 percent of assumed value.
- Kapital estimates the actual wealth of Norway’s 400 richest people each year, and these values are often much higher than the declared wealth.
Not far behind Haugen is presenter Anders Hoff (48). Usually, Hoff is seen in the hosting role for “Shall We Dance?”, which he leads together with “The Guardian” host Helene Olafsen (34) from Kolbotn.
In 2022, Hoff had an income of 1.9 million kroner.
Hoff has been a co-host on the TV 2 program since 2017, but his breakthrough came only in 2003 with the comedy trio “Raske Menn”.
Olafsen earned 600,000 kroner less than Hoff, with an income of 1.3 million.
However, the former snowboarder did experience an increase in income from the previous year, when she had an income of 604,000 kroner.
In 2022, she took over the baton from Katrine Moholt in “Shall We Dance?”, and at the same time, Olafsen founded the clothing brand Daae studio with fashion designer Fam Irvoll.
Sky-high Wealth
In addition to those mentioned above, influencer Sebastian Solberg (34), economist Silje Sandmæl (45), and actress Charlotte Frogner (41) also did well, financially speaking.
Third on the list is Solberg with 1.7 million kroner, and Sandmæl with 1.3 million kroner. Frogner earned just over a million with 1.1 million kroner.
These three also share the fact that they had significant wealth. Wealth is what one owns in assets, for example, houses, cars, or shares.
Silje Sandmæl, also known as DNB-Silje, had a wealth of seven million kroner in 2022, while Solberg had a wealth of nearly six million kroner.
Actress Frogner, best known for her role in “Side by Side,” had a somewhat smaller amount of wealth at 823,000 kroner.
Lowest Income
There is only one participant in this year’s season listed with zero income. Anny Isabella Øvrehus (24) has amassed a large following on social media over the past year, including on TikTok and Snapchat. She has over 200,000 followers on TikTok.
She was also part of the secret trio “Baddies,” which ultimately revealed their identity at the end of 2022.
However, in 2022, she was listed with zero income, and in 2021, she had an income of 854 kroner. The 24-year-old, however, had a wealth of 46,000 kroner.
Youtuber Truls Torp (24), Robin Hofset (33), FpU leader Simen Velle (23), and actress Hilde Lyrån (61) were among those with the lowest income that year, with a span from 198,000 kroner to 382,000 kroner in income.
