BOLZANO. The provincial government of Bolzano has made funds available for a total of approximately 253,000 euros for the hiring of seasonal staff for the 2025 nature protection service in the natural parks of Alto Adige. In 2025, i seven South Tyrolean nature parks will have at their disposal 22 full-time rangers from July to September.

“Whoever takes care of the nature protection service is not only the point of contact for our visitors, but also actively contributes to environmental education and raising awareness about the protection of the environment and nature”, underlines the provincial councilor Peter Brunner. “As a ranger, anyone can be active in raising awareness for the environment. If I myself am enthusiastic about conserving nature myself, it is easier to pass on my spark to others,” he says Leo Hilpolddirector of the Nature office.

The seasonal staff of the protected areas is trained directly by the Nature office, which also trains and coordinates the custodians. The hiring, however, will be carried out by the personnel hiring office. Applications for the seasonal nature protection service must be submitted by March 4, 2025.
