Madurai,- The Madurai branch of the High Court slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on a woman who had filed two separate cases alleging that a patta had been fraudulently issued to one person for family property and seeking an order to the revenue department to cancel it.

Papapathy hails from Kengwarpatti near Periyakulam, Theni district. He said, “Our family has a property in Kengwarpatti. In this case, one person was given a patta fraudulently.

“I sent a petition to Theni Collector and Revenue Department in 2019 to cancel it. He petitioned the High Court in 2020 to order action.

The High Court ordered to send a ‘notice’ to the concerned officials. The case is pending.

Papadi filed another petition for the same relief seeking an order to the Periyakulam Tahsildar to dismiss the petition already sent to Faisal.

Investigating judge V. Bhavani Subparayan said, “The petitioner has filed two different ‘writ’ petitions for the same reason. A fine of Rs 1,000 is imposed on the petitioner. This should be paid into the bank account of Madurai Othakadai Govt High School,” he ruled.

The petition was withdrawn by the petitioner. Subsequently, the judge dismissed the petition.
