Dubai: Rain with thunder and lightning in many places in UAE. It rained lightly in some places and heavy in others. It started raining yesterday (Monday) evening, but it got stronger by early morning today. The National Meteorological Center had earlier informed that the rains are likely to continue till tomorrow. Winds are forecast to reach 70km/h till tomorrow (Wednesday). Center’s rain forecast that strong winds will blow in the coastal areas of Abu Dhabi and Dubai today. AE shows the weather chart. Conditions will improve on Wednesday.
The authorities had also warned that no one should go out except for essentials. The National Disaster Management Authority said the UAE is facing severe weather conditions including heavy rains, floods and thunderstorms and the public and authorities should act in concert. Individuals should avoid visiting flood-prone areas and refrain from traveling on waterlogged roads. Activities in flood-prone areas, especially near valleys and dams, should be avoided to prevent hazards associated with rising water levels.
Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Khuwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah all received heavy rain. Strong winds also blew in many places.
