The 19-year-old Dane, in good shape after his title in Stockholm on Sunday against Stefanos Tsitsipas, made short work of the Frenchman ranked 103rd at ATP.
Holger Rune (25th in the world) took control from the start of the game, breaking in the first set (5-4) and then winning a shutout 6-4.
In the second set, Rune took his opponent’s serve twice, conceding only two games.
In the quarter-finals, the protege of Patrick Mouratoglou will meet the French Arthur Rinderknech (51st).
