Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held a tea meeting with Uijeongbu Technical High School (Principal Kim Joo-han, hereinafter referred to as Uijeongbu Technical High School) on January 6 regarding the school name change and department reorganization.

This tea meeting was attended by Mayor Kim Dong-geun, Principal Kim Joo-han, chairman of the Uijeongbu Technical High School name change promotion committee, Vice Principal Lee Deok-hyo, and Administrative Director Lee Myeong-seop. It was an event to convey support and support for Uijeongbu Technical High School’s transformation into a prestigious specialized high school with the goal of nurturing talent in new industries in the Uijeongbu region.

After being established as Uijeongbu Agricultural High School in 1943, Uijeongbu Technical High School changed its name to Uijeongbu Vocational High School in 1961, Uijeongbu Comprehensive High School in 1964, and Uijeongbu Technical High School in 1974. The name Uijeongbu Technical High School has been maintained for about 50 years.

Meanwhile, Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) will run an indoor play experience program for children during the winter vacation at the ‘Uijeongbu Memory Repository’ twice on January 11th and 18th.

Uijeongbu Memory Repository is a record storage (archive) space for the collection, preservation, and use of Uijeongbu modern and contemporary history materials. It opened in December 2023 at the site of the former Veterans Club, located across from the Heungseon-dong Administrative Welfare Center. For efficient and professional operation, the Uijeongbu Cultural Center is entrusted with the operation.

The children’s program for winter vacation was prepared under the theme of ‘indoor play’ to provide children with opportunities for fun and beneficial indoor activities. Dr. Seo Jong-won, a play expert and folklorist, will teach traditional games that allow you to experience traditional culture.

This special lecture was organized according to the level of children by age. It is scheduled to be held for 1st to 3rd grade elementary school students on January 11th, and for 4th to 6th graders on the 18th.
